Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - real estate

Last updated: 15 September 2025

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program’s learning activities are for licensed:

  • real estate agents
  • sales representatives
  • property managers

CPD increases consumer protection and promotes consumer confidence in the real estate industry.

The requirements of the CPD program are set by legislation. Failure to follow the requirements may result in a penalty of up to $5000.

Changes to CPD are coming in 2026

The way CPD runs in WA for property industry professionals is changing

  • CPD year runs from 1 April to 31 March
  • five activities must be completed per year
  • agents must keep track of their activities attended
  • training providers have a new approval process

CPD training completed between 1 January 2026 and 31 March 2026 will count toward the 2026–27 CPD year. You must complete your 2025 CPD by 31 December 2025.

This page will be updated to explain the new changes.
