Moving into aged care

Eligible residents will be able to request a portion of their exit entitlement to be paid directly towards aged care daily accommodation payments (DAP). The official form will be available from 30 August 2026. 

Please note, you cannot require the operator to contribute to the cost of your aged care from your exit entitlement if you have chosen to pay a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD). A RAD is an upfront lump-sum payment for a room in a residential aged care facility.

More details, including eligibility requirements, will be available from 1 September.
