Privacy collection notice for associations applications, statements and notices lodged under the Associations Incorporation Act.

The Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) collects the personal information you provide through forms and transactions under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA) (the Act) for the following purposes:

  • assess, process and determine applications, notifications and requests; 
  • record, maintain and make available information and documents in accordance with the Act, including, where authorised, on a public register of incorporated associations or by providing access to documents upon payment of a prescribed fee; and
  • monitor and support compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

We may provide this information to:

  • any person or body you nominate or authorise;
  • relevant government agencies, departments and internal staff who support service delivery and related regulatory, administrative, communications and education functions; and
  • any other person or body where disclosure is authorised or required under the Act or another written law.

We will not disclose personal information about you to anybody else, unless you have given consent, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.

Providing this information is required to enable LGIRS to administer the Act. If the required information is not provided, or it is incomplete or incorrect, LGIRS may be unable to process your application or action your request.
