Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 03 March 2026

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 4 March 2026), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 29 cents per litre (cpl) to 188.6 cpl with Ampol and Caltex hiking up to 213.9 cpl; 7-Eleven and EG Ampol up to 209.9 cpl; United and BP up to 205.9 cpl; Vibe up to 189.7 cpl; and Shell Reddy Express up to 175.9 cpl

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 21 individual sites offering ULP below 155 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 66 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $39 on a 60-litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 153.3 cpl at Vibe Bullsbrook Northlink in the East;
  • 148.3 cpl at Burk Oakford in the South; and
  • 150.7 cpl at Vibe Beechboro in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 154.5 cpl at Vibe Mt Helena in the East;
  • 147.1 cpl at Burk Oakford in the South; and
  • 151.2 cpl at Vibe Neerabup in the North.

To find the cheapest fuel at any time, check the mobile compatible www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au site which features an interactive map.
