Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 19 August 2025

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 20 August 2025), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 27 cents per litre (cpl) to 189.6 cpl with Ampol hiking up to 213.9 cpl; 7-Eleven, Shell Reddy Express, EG Ampol and BP up to 209.9 cpl; United up to 202.9 cpl; and Vibe up to 199.7 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 26 individual sites offering ULP below 156 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 72 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $43 on a 60-litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 155.7 cpl at Vibe Forrestfield and Vibe Mt Helena in the East;
  • 143.3 cpl at Burk Oakford in the South; and
  • 153.3 cpl at Burk Bassendean, Burk Landsdale and Burk Mount Lawley in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 155.3 cpl at Vibe Mt Helena in the East;
  • 141.3 cpl at Burk Oakford in the South; and
  • 152.9 cpl at Vibe Wanneroo in the North.
