Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 18 February 2025

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 19 February 2025), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by over 29 cents per litre (cpl) to 195.6 cpl with Reddy Express/Coles Express hiking up to 211.9 cpl; 7-Eleven, EG Ampol, BP and Caltex up to 209.9 cpl; Vibe up to 209.7 cpl; Ampol up to 207.9 cpl; and United up to 199.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 25 individual sites offering ULP below 166 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying ULP from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 52 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $31 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 161.9 cpl at Shell Reddy Express Forrestfield in the East;
  • 159.9 cpl at OTR Maddington, Shell Coles Express Myaree, Shell Coles Express Waikiki, Shell Coles Express Westfield and Shell Reddy Express Southern River in the South; and
  • 159.8 cpl at Petro Fuels Westminster in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 165.5 cpl at Shell High Wycombe in the East;
  • 160.7 cpl at Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 161.3 cpl at Burk Camillo in the South; and
  • 159.8 cpl at Petro Fuels Westminster in the North.
