Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 04 February 2025

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 5 February 2025), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 29 cents per litre (cpl) to 196.4 cpl with Ampol hiking up to 214.9 cpl; EG Ampol up to 213.9 cpl; Vibe up to 213.7 cpl; 7-Eleven, BP, Caltex and Reddy Express/Coles Express up to 209.9 cpl; and United up to 205.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 28 individual sites offering prices below 168 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 52 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $31 on a 60-litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 162.9 cpl at 7-Eleven Brabham, 7-Eleven Middle Swan, 7-Eleven Midland, 7-Eleven Midvale and 7-Eleven Wattle Grove in the East;
  • 161.9 cpl at Ampol Foodary South Lake, OTR Como, Shell Coles Express Bentley, Shell Coles Express Bull Creek, Shell Coles Express Myaree, Shell Coles Express South Perth, Shell Coles Express Southern River, Shell Coles Express Waikiki, Shell Coles Express Westfield, Shell Reddy Express Bicton and Shell Reddy Express Willetton in the South; and
  • 158.8 cpl at NightOwl Shell Highgate in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 163.9 cpl at Atlas Fuel Stratton in the East;
  • 162.7 cpl at Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 163.3 cpl at Burk Camillo in the South; and
  • 162.3 cpl at Burk Bassendean in the North.
