Alert to Perth motorists – check FuelWatch to time your petrol purchase

Last updated: 31 March 2026

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to use the FuelWatch website to time their purchase. Tomorrow, most retail sites have lowered their petrol prices, while some have increased theirs, and others are holding steady.

A fuel excise reduction takes effect tomorrow, 1 April 2026. Consumers should be aware it can take a few days and sometimes longer for retailers to deplete their current stocks that were subject to the full excise and replenish with a new wholesale delivery that includes the excise cut.

Drivers are also urged to only purchase the fuel they need to fill their vehicles, not to stockpile.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 1 April 2026), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will decrease by 7 cents per litre (cpl) to 244.6 cpl with Ampol dropping to 227.9 cpl; Vibe down to as low as 229.7 cpl; Reddy Express down to 229.9 cpl; and United down to as low as 242.9 cpl.

Tomorrow, there are 24 individual sites offering ULP below 224 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 59 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $35 on a 60-litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 233.9 cpl at FastFuel 24/7 (Forrestfield) in the East;
  • 229.3 cpl at Burk Cannington in the South; and
  • 235.3 cpl at Burk Bassendean in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 213.9 cpl at UGO Mundaring in the East;
  • 210.9 cpl at Atlas Fuel Ascot, Atlas Fuel Forrestdale, Atlas Fuel Golden Bay and Atlas Fuel Kwinana in the South; and
  • 211.9 cpl at Solo Morley in the North.
