You can have your say on changes to mutual recognition laws - Land Valuers bulletin issue 30

21 January 2021

In 2020, the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments agreed to introduce a uniform scheme for the automatic mutual recognition (AMR) of occupational registrations. The proposed changes are part of red-tape reduction reforms to aid Australia's economic recovery.

Land valuers are one of the occupations that are proposed to be included in the changes.

Complaint timeframes and results

We receive hundreds of complaints each week. We prioritise the complaints in order of:

  • urgent problems (such as evictions)
  • risk to the consumer and the community.

This means there can be a delay if your complaint is lower risk than others.

Conciliation is voluntary for both you and the trader. Understanding the wait times may help you decide if conciliation is for you.

If you decide to wait for conciliation, we will do our best to help you resolve your complaint.

Future renting WA Negotiating guide

It’s time to start talking about your renting future.

In response to COVID-19, the Western Australian Government implemented a moratorium on some evictions and all rent increases, under the Residential Tenancies (COVID-19 Response) Act 2020. The extended emergency period ends on 28 March 2021, which means that all the existing laws will stay in place until this date, after which the ordinary tenancy laws will apply again.
